The paragraph the game shows when you find each one. Reading them first is not cheating.

Hanoi

Hanoi is the national capital. Its old quarter and Temple of Literature stand near lakes and the Red River’s broad floodplain.

Ho Chi Minh City

The city formerly known as Saigon is a major commercial centre. The Saigon River connects it with ports and industrial districts downstream.

Hai Phong

Hai Phong is a major port city near the Gulf of Tonkin. The city marker shows the urban centre within a much larger municipality.

Ha Long

Ha Long city faces the limestone islands of Ha Long Bay. The wider area also has a long history of coal mining and coastal trade.

Hue

Hue was the seat of the Nguyen dynasty. Its citadel, palaces and royal tombs are connected by the Perfume River and surrounding countryside.

Da Nang

Da Nang is a port and regional transport centre near the Han River’s mouth. The Hai Van Pass lies to its north.

Hoi An

Hoi An’s old town preserves a trading port shaped by Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese connections. It lies within the expanded Da Nang municipality.

Quy Nhon

Quy Nhon faces a bay on the central coast. After the 2025 merger it became the administrative centre of the expanded Gia Lai province.

Nha Trang

Nha Trang faces an island-dotted bay. The nearby Po Nagar towers preserve part of the region’s Cham heritage.

Da Lat

Da Lat lies on the Lang Biang plateau. Its elevation supports a cooler climate and the cultivation of vegetables, flowers and fruit.

Buon Ma Thuot

Buon Ma Thuot is a major centre of Vietnam’s coffee-growing highlands. It is the administrative centre of the expanded Dak Lak province.

Pleiku

Pleiku lies on a basalt plateau in Gia Lai. Highland farming and the cultural traditions of local communities shape the surrounding region.

Can Tho

Can Tho is a major city of the Mekong Delta. Rivers and canals connect its markets and neighbourhoods with surrounding agricultural areas.

Rach Gia

Rach Gia is a coastal port with connections to offshore islands. It became the administrative centre of the expanded An Giang province in 2025.

Ca Mau

Ca Mau is a delta city connected with aquaculture and waterways. Mangrove forests and the country’s southern cape lie farther south.

Vung Tau

Vung Tau stands near the approaches to southeastern ports. The urban area is now part of the expanded Ho Chi Minh City municipality.

Vinh

Vinh is a transport and commercial centre near the Ca River. Its roads and railway connect the northern plain with central Vietnam.

Ninh Binh

Ninh Binh is a starting point for Trang An and Tam Coc’s limestone landscapes. The expanded province also includes former Ha Nam and Nam Dinh.

Dien Bien Phu

Dien Bien Phu occupies a mountain valley near Laos. The 1954 battle here became a turning point in the First Indochina War.

Sa Pa

Sa Pa lies in the Hoang Lien Son mountains near Fansipan. Terraced farms and the traditions of several ethnic communities shape the surrounding valleys.
