Northern mountains, a desert interior and monsoon-influenced Dhofar face the Indian Ocean.
Know the shape of the country
Start with all eleven governorates, including Musandam and the separate Madha exclave, then place twenty cities and towns. Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque
Opened in 2001, the mosque combines a large prayer hall, arcades and landscaped grounds. Its carpet and chandelier are notable craft works; visitor access follows the mosqueโs current rules and hours.
