Lesson 5 of 10
Shops and hotels in Spanish
Open, closed, a bag, the wifi password: the checkout and the front desk. Play the ten Spanish words against the clock, with a note on how locals really use each one after every answer. All ten are written out below.

The shop question: "¿tiene pan?", "¿tiene leche sin lactosa?". Combine with showing your phone screen for anything you cannot name.
"¿Dónde está el pan?" gets you an aisle number or, more often, a wave in the right direction. That wave is all you need.
Many small shops close from about two to five.
Bags cost a few cents by law, so the cashier will ask "¿bolsa?" at speed. Answer sí or no and you have survived the checkout listening test.
"¿Puedo sentarme?", can I sit?
