तुम्ही कसे आहात?tum-HEE ka-SE aa-HAAT
How are you?

The polite plural form used for elders, strangers, and anyone you wish to show respect to. "Tumhi" is the respectful "you" in Marathi.

मी ठीक आहेMEE THEEK AA-he
I'm fine, thanks

The go-to response to "how are you." Simple, clear, and warm. You can add "tumhi?" (and you?) to keep the conversation going.

तुम्ही कसे?tum-HEE ka-SE
And you?

Bounce the question back politely. Maharashtrians appreciate the reciprocal gesture. It signals you are genuinely interested, not just going through the motions.
