Meeting people in Welsh
How are you, what is your name, where are you from, I like it: the first five minutes. Play the ten Welsh words against the clock, with a note on how locals really use each one after every answer. All ten are written out below.

The polite form; Sut wyt ti? (sit weet tee) is for a friend.
"Eich" is the formal possessive "your." To answer, say "Marcus yw fy enw i" (Marcus is my name) or simply state your name. Welsh names like Rhys, Sion and Lowri are common.
A very common question in Wales, where people are curious about visitors. "O ble" means "from where." Answer with "O Lundain" (from London), "O'r Unol Daleithiau" (from the USA) or just name your city.
Literally a warm welcome. Croeso (KROY-soh) alone also means you're welcome.
