Public toilets exist but are not always free. Cafes are a reliable option: buy a coffee and use the facilities. The definite suffix "-от" turns тоалет into "the toilet."
Literally "to the left".
Also means "right" in the sense of "correct," so context matters. In directions it always means straight on. A pointing gesture removes any ambiguity.
Skopje has a central train station. Macedonian rail connects to Belgrade and Thessaloniki. Locals may simply say "Станица" and understand what you mean.
City bus tickets in Skopje are bought from the driver or at kiosks. For intercity buses buy at the terminal window. Always say the destination city name after "билет."
