The base number for counting and ordering. You will use this constantly: one coffee, one ticket, one more.
Essential for pairs. "Eradu kopi" means two coffees. Kannadigas count on fingers for small quantities.
Once you know one, two, three you can handle most basic transactions.
Prices are often rounded to fives and tens in local markets. Knowing "aidu" helps when haggling.
"Hattu rupee" is a common price point for street snacks like banana chips or groundnuts from a cart.
