The shop question. Имате ли хляб? Имате ли мляко? Combine with pointing at your phone screen for anything you cannot name.
Къде е хлябът? (where is the bread?). Works for aisles, streets and toilets alike. The answer will come with pointing, which is all you need.
The cashier will ask you this at every checkout, usually as a rapid "торбичка искате ли?". Answer да or не and you have passed the most common real-world listening test in Bulgaria.
Bargaining is normal only at markets and with some taxi drivers.
Literally "is it possible?": "може ли да седна тук?" (MO-zheh lee da SED-na took), can I sit here?
