Simple and flexible. Point at something or add the item name after "jest." For plural items use "Czy są...?" (chih sowm). Staff in larger supermarkets often know some English.
"Gdzie" (where) is one of the most useful question words. The "dz" blends into a soft sound. Follow it with the item you need and a questioning tone.
Most shops close on Sundays by law.
