Meeting people in Polish
How are you, what is your name, where are you from, I like it: the first five minutes. Play the ten Polish words against the clock, with a note on how locals really use each one after every answer. All ten are written out below.

The formal version used with older people, strangers, or in professional settings. Pan is used for men and Pani for women. Poles take this distinction seriously.
The standard polite reply. "Dobrze" means well or good. Poles may elaborate on how they really feel, as Polish culture values genuine conversation over pleasantries.
Polite: Pan to a man, Pani to a woman. With friends: "a ty?" (ah TIH).
Polite form. Casual: "jak się nazywasz?".
Literally "we welcome".
