ЕденEH-den
One

"Еден" is the masculine form. Feminine is "Една" and neuter is "Едно." The form changes to match the noun, but pointing and saying the number alone is always understood.

Дваdva
Two

Masculine form. The feminine/neuter is "Две" (dveh). Use "Две" for most food and drink orders since many items are grammatically neuter in Macedonian.

Триtri
Three

The same across genders, making it easier to remember. Holding up fingers alongside numbers helps enormously in noisy markets and cafes.

Четириcheh-TI-ri
Four

The "ч" is a hard "ch" as in "church." Four syllables, so say it slowly. In markets you may just hold up four fingers and point to the price tag.

Петpet
Five

Short and easy. Prices in denars are often multiples of five. A coffee in Skopje typically costs around 60 to 80 denars.

Шестshest
Six
СедумSEH-doom
Seven
ОсумO-soom
Eight
ДеветDEH-vet
Nine
ДесетDEH-set
Ten

Prices are in denars.
