แƒ“แƒแƒฎแƒ›แƒแƒ แƒ”แƒ‘แƒ!dakh-mah-REH-bah!
Help!

Shout this loudly in any emergency. Georgians respond strongly to calls for help and bystanders will act quickly. Knowing this word by reflex, not by thought, is the goal.

A long word worth knowing passively so you can recognize signs. In a crisis, showing this word written down or pointing at a translation on your phone is just as effective as pronunciation.

แƒ’แƒ–แƒ แƒ“แƒแƒ•แƒ™แƒแƒ แƒ’แƒ”g-ZAH dahv-KAR-geh
I'm lost

Say this and expect immediate help. Georgians are famously generous with directions and will often personally escort you to your destination rather than just pointing.

แƒชแƒฃแƒ“แƒแƒ“ แƒ•แƒแƒ TSOO-dahd var
I don't feel well

A simple and clear phrase for communicating illness. Follow it with pointing to the affected area or use a translation app to specify symptoms. Georgians will immediately offer to help or call someone.

แƒ›แƒแƒ›แƒžแƒแƒ แƒ”แƒกmohm-PAH-res
It was stolen

Petty theft exists in crowded tourist areas as in any city. Say this at a police station to file a report. Keep a photo of your passport and important cards stored separately from the originals.
