A polite way to ask if a product is available, using the formal u. In casual contexts, Heb je...? (heb yuh) is the informal equivalent.
Essential for finding items in an unfamiliar supermarket. Point if needed and the staff will understand. Albert Heijn is the largest supermarket chain.
Many shops open late on Monday mornings and close at six.
Plastic bags are charged for in Dutch supermarkets. The cashier will ask this. You can reply ja graag (yes please) or nee, bedankt (no thanks).
