The base number for ordering and counting. Armenian numbers are regular and easy to combine: մեկ հարյուր means 100, մեկ հազար means 1000. Learn this one first.
The "yer" start can trip English speakers who expect a harder sound. Practice by thinking of "year-KOO." Essential for ordering rounds or buying pairs of anything.
Note that երեք and կներեք (excuse me) share a similar ending. Keep them distinct by remembering that yerEK always refers to the number three in a counting context.
Sounds deceptively like the English word "hinge" without the final e. Armenian numbers from one to ten are all short and manageable, making this language easier than it first appears.
Prices are in dram (դրամ, dram).
