are not navigation charts, a current water-level survey or maritime claims.

Derived province database is made available under ODbL 1.0.
Simplified by 0.0007 degrees with topology preservation, repaired and snapped
to 0.00001 degrees. ISO codes LK-1 through LK-9 assign province names.
The map teaches provinces, not the separate set of twenty-five districts.

Selected source geometry is retained at scripts/sri-lanka-water-source.geojson
so rebuilding does not require network access or the full world datasets.
Mahaweli retains both named river and lake-centerline segments as one answer.
The Senanayaka Samudra source reservoir is labelled Senanayake Samudraya.
Palk Strait, Gulf of Mannar, Bay of Bengal and Laccadive Sea use source polygons
clipped to [78.8, 5.5, 82.5, 10.25]. Sri Lanka land plus a 0.003-degree shore
margin is removed from marine targets. These are selected reference waters;
the many other rivers, tanks, lagoons and coastal features are not shown.

CITIES AND SIGHTS
Twenty curated city and town coordinates; every province is represented.
Colombo and Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte are distinct targets: zoom in.
Points are checked against their stated province with a small coastal tolerance.
Sixteen sight pins identify representative sites or landscapes, not confirmed
entrances, safe routes or opening status. The city and sight selections are
editorial learning references rather than population rankings or itineraries.
