the terms of the Singapore Open Data Licence version 1.0.
Processing: simplified with a tolerance of 0.0002 degrees, islets under about
0.02 km² dropped, coordinates rounded to six decimals. Codes such as
sg-area-bishan are assigned for this guide and are not official codes. The
five regions (Central, East, North, North-East, West) follow the URA's own
grouping. The map is for geographic learning, not navigation or legal

WATERS
The Straits of Johor and the Singapore Strait are generated as sea between
the planning areas above and the Natural Earth coasts of Johor and the Riau
Islands, split along a line through the island's interior. Natural Earth's
Johor coast is coarse, so it is held back 0.5 km from Singapore's coast and
the Straits of Johor are drawn narrower than in reality near Woodlands. The
Strait of Malacca and the South China Sea reuse the Malaysia guide's
generalised Natural Earth shapes (public domain), with the two local straits
taking selection priority. These are learning shapes, not maritime or
territorial boundaries.

SIGHTS
Coordinates for central sights were checked against OpenStreetMap features
for the former Singapore city guide. Pins represent locations rather than
entrances. Priorities are editorial choices.
