Mozambique guide: sources and limitations Reviewed 26 October 2026 MAPS National outline: Natural Earth v5.1.2, 1:10m admin-0 countries, public domain. https://github.com/nvkelso/natural-earth-vector/blob/v5.1.2/geojson/ne_10m_admin_0_countries.geojson https://www.naturalearthdata.com/about/terms-of-use/ The retained outline is in scripts/mozambique-outline-source.geojson. City coordinates are curated settlement centres in longitude, latitude order. This is a generalised learning map, not a boundary survey or a travel map. It does not depict administrative subdivisions. Small coastline and island features are limited by source scale. Natural Earth omits the narrow Island of Mozambique. Its two sight pins retain their actual island positions, approximately 4.5 km offshore from the mapped mainland. The generalised shoreline also cuts across Maputo and Beira city centres (under 200 m) and the Maputo station, fortress and Tofo sight pins (under 1.2 km). These real locations have not been shifted inland to fit the simplified outline. Landmark pins identify representative locations, not entrances, safe routes or guarantees of visitor access.
