Mexico City city guide: sources, transformations and photo credits Reviewed October 11, 2026. The text, questions, explanations and selection of fifteen sights were written for Worldly. Official tourism, museum and heritage references are linked below. Recommendations to group nearby places and allow time are editorial choices. Admission prices, opening hours and service closures are deliberately left to the linked operators so a saved guide does not promise outdated access. Statistical metadata in the source: Censo de Población y Vivienda, 2020. https://www.inegi.org.mx/temas/mg/ https://www.inegi.org.mx/servicios/catalogounico.html Downloaded from: https://gaia.inegi.org.mx/wscatgeo/v2/geo/mgem/09 Retrieved October 11, 2026. All sixteen boroughs are included. Reuse terms: https://www.inegi.org.mx/inegi/terminos.html Worldly simplified the shared polygon coverage with Shapely 2.1.2 using a 0.00005-degree tolerance, rounded coordinates to six decimal places, and selected interior label anchors. Borough identifiers retain INEGI's five-digit codes. The metadatos object is preserved in both boundary files. Transformations, guide descriptions and sight selection are Worldly's work, not INEGI's analysis or endorsement. Geo-statistical outlines are for this learning map and do not define the entire metropolitan area. Rebuild: python3 scripts/build-mexico-city-districts.py The guide's sight coordinates are longitude/latitude in WGS84. All pins are checked against their declared borough. Xochimilco is pinned at the Nativitas pier area, UNAM at its Central Library, and Soumaya at Plaza Carso; each is a specific starting point rather than a claim that an entire area fits one pin. Photographs Thirteen distinct Wikimedia Commons photographs illustrate the guide. Each image links to its original file page and identifies the author and license. Exact source URLs and credits are preserved in src/lib/cities/mexico-city-photos.json. Thumbnail URLs were obtained from Wikimedia's imageinfo API at 1280px width. The history image is a model of Tenochtitlan's ceremonial center, explicitly identified as a model in its alternative text. The transport photo shows a Metro train at Pantitlán, not a schematic network logo. Wikipedia articles are also pinned explicitly to each map answer and learning question for the existing Worldly further-reading feature. Their article titles are identifiers; authored questions and explanations use original wording.
