Fiji country guide: sources and map licence Prepared 25 October 2026 MAP DATA Natural Earth 1:10m admin-1 states/provinces, snapshot: https://github.com/nvkelso/natural-earth-vector/blob/ca96624a56bd078437bca8184e78163e5039ad19/geojson/ne_10m_admin_1_states_provinces.geojson Natural Earth is public domain: https://www.naturalearthdata.com/about/terms-of-use/ The committed source extract contains only Fiji's five administrative features. Run scripts/build-fiji-maps.py with Python 3 and Shapely 2 to reproduce the three public GeoJSON files, atlas pack and place-name registry. The region game covers Central, Eastern, Northern and Western divisions and separately administered Rotuma. Fourteen provinces are a different level. The island game selects ten individual islands from dissolved source coastlines; it is not a complete inventory of Fiji's islands. Smaller offshore islands may be omitted or generalised by the source. City and settlement points are curated learning centres, not administrative boundaries or exact entrances. Negative source longitudes are moved into the 0–360 world copy and adjacent coastline parts dissolved, preserving islands across the 180-degree meridian. The same camera includes Rotuma and the southern Lau islands. The international date line is not the same thing as the 180-degree meridian. These learning maps do not describe maritime ownership, navigation, current access or land tenure. Images illustrate island landscapes, villages, Nadi, Levuka, the temple and Sigatoka's dunes; captions identify the actual subject. They are not presented as photographs of the food or ceremonies described in the reading.
