Central African Republic guide — editorial and map references Prepared 27 October 2026 Scope Twelve cities and towns, ten heritage and landscape locations, ten illustrated reading topics and thirty answered reading questions. The existing facts rounds and lesson IDs remain unchanged. The linked language course teaches general French, not Sango. No database or schema changes are needed. Sango is an official language and a lingua franca; it is not a dialect of French. The World Bank’s 2026 country overview records Touadéra’s re-election in the December 2025 general elections. Constitutional terms refer to the 2023 text. Bouar is on the UNESCO Tentative List, not the inscribed World Heritage List. Sangha Trinational (2012) includes Dzanga-Ndoki National Park; the wider Dzanga-Sangha complex also includes the special reserve. Manovo-Gounda St Floris was inscribed in 1988 and listed as World Heritage in Danger in 1997. Current conditions https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/central-african-republic At consultation, FCDO advised against all travel outside Bangui and against all but essential travel to Bangui. Advice and access can change. Historic photographs and mapped learning locations do not establish current safety. Map provenance and limitations The national outline is the CF feature from public/countries.geojson, the site’s generalised Natural Earth-derived map, retained offline in scripts/central-african-republic-outline-source.geojson. Natural Earth data is public domain: https://www.naturalearthdata.com/about/terms-of-use/ Curated approximate settlement centres are retained in scripts/central-african-republic-map-places.json as [longitude, latitude]. Named English Wikipedia settlement articles provide orientation references. Sights in src/lib/country-sights/central-african-republic.json include approximate landscape points rather than surveyed boundaries, gates or routes. Urban pins can sit just outside the generalised outline at the Ubangi border; that is not a claim that the real settlement lies across the international boundary. The map shows no prefectures or current lines of control. The food image shows a bread trader, the landmarks photo a cathedral crowd, and the politics photo Touadéra in October 2019. None establishes present conditions or represents the whole population.
