Cameroon guide: sources and limitations Prepared 27 October 2026 MAPS National outline retained from public/countries.geojson, the existing Worldly country map (ISO_A2 CM). No new boundary dataset or administrative divisions. Retained input: scripts/cameroon-outline-source.geojson. Rebuild offline: node scripts/build-cameroon-map.mjs. City coordinates are curated approximate settlement centres, in longitude, latitude order. All twelve cities and ten sights are tested inside the outline. National outlines generalise coastlines and borders; park points represent landscapes, not entrances or protected-area boundaries. This is an educational map, not a representation of current territorial control or a travel itinerary. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_in_Cameroon https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Cameroon https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ekom_Falls https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lob%C3%A9_Waterfalls https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foumban_Royal_Palace https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bafut_Palace https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhumsiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waza_National_Park https://whc.unesco.org/en/list/407/ https://whc.unesco.org/en/list/1380/ READING geography: Geography of Cameroon https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geography_of_Cameroon history: History of Cameroon https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Cameroon language: Constitution of Cameroon · Article 1 https://www.constituteproject.org/constitution/Cameroon_2008 culture: UNESCO · Nguon https://ich.unesco.org/en/RL/nguon-rituals-of-governance-and-associated-expressions-in-the-bamoun-community-01955 economy: Economy of Cameroon https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Cameroon politics: International IDEA · April 2026 constitutional amendment https://www.idea.int/democracytracker/report/cameroon/april-2026 Constitutional text through 2008: https://www.constituteproject.org/constitution/Cameroon_2008 Law No. 2026/002 of 14 April 2026: https://prc.cm/en/multimedia/documents/10676-law-2026-002-of-14-04-2026 nature: UNESCO · World Heritage in Cameroon https://whc.unesco.org/en/statesparties/cm/ food: Cameroonian cuisine https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cameroonian_cuisine landmarks: UNESCO · World Heritage in Cameroon https://whc.unesco.org/en/statesparties/cm/ people: People of Cameroon https://www.britannica.com/place/Cameroon/People CONTEXT AND EDITORIAL CHOICES The constitution (1996, amended 2008) establishes equal official status for English and French, a decentralised unitary state, a seven-year presidential term with eligibility for re-election and a two-chamber parliament. The April 2026 amendment restores an appointed vice presidency and changes presidential succession. The linked course teaches general French. Existing language-course guide owners are kept. Dja was inscribed as World Heritage in 1987; Sangha Trinational in 2012, with Lobéké as the Cameroon component. Nguon was inscribed as intangible heritage in 2023, which is a different UNESCO list. Foumban and Bafut are not labelled inscribed World Heritage. Southern, not all British Cameroons, joined in 1961. BEAC is headquartered in Yaoundé; CEMAC in Bangui. https://www.beac.int/beac/organisation/implantations-de-beac/ https://cemac.int/ Léonora Miano won the Prix Femina in 2013 for La Saison de l’ombre, and the Prix Goncourt des Lycéens in 2006 for Contours du jour qui vient. The reviewed quiz uses the clearly dated 2013 award rather than an undated first. https://www.livreshebdo.fr/article/leonora-miano-et-richard-ford-laureats-du-prix-femina https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/cameroon The constitution and current official travel-advice text were accessible during preparation. UNESCO inscriptions, BEAC headquarters and the literary prize were also verified with indexed sources after direct retrieval hit access blocks. No current election tally, population total or port trade-share is asserted. 28 read-time quiz corrections preserve all original lesson and question IDs. The unchanged seed and scripts/fixtures/cameroon-facts-questions.json retain the original eighty questions. No database or schema changes are required.
